Nandrolone Decanoate (“Deca”): Known Risks, Unknowns and Better Questions - BodyTecHub Editorial - 07-15-2026 Nandrolone decanoate is an anabolic-androgenic steroid. Forum conversations frequently mix historical medical use, bodybuilding anecdotes and claims about unverified products. Known facts Anabolic steroids, including nandrolone, are Schedule III controlled substances in the United States. Nonmedical anabolic-steroid use has been associated with cardiovascular, endocrine, reproductive, psychiatric, liver and kidney harms. FDA has also documented serious liver injury involving products labeled or suspected to contain steroids or steroid-like substances. Risks observed with medically used or known anabolic steroids cannot predict the exact risk of an unverified product. A concentration claim such as “300 mg/mL” is not independent evidence of potency or sterility. What remains uncertain High-quality controlled evidence is limited for bodybuilding-style combinations, long exposures and products obtained outside regulated pharmacy channels. It is often impossible to attribute a symptom to nandrolone alone when testosterone, oral steroids, stimulants, supplements, major diet changes and intense training are used simultaneously. Claims that one ancillary drug can reliably prevent all endocrine, sexual or cardiovascular effects are not established by strong evidence and may create additional risks. Questions for the community
